I just finished reading Never Lie by Freida McFadden, and let me tell you, it’s one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read in a long time! From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The story revolves around Dr. Zachary Sutton, a psychologist who is treating Amber, a woman accused of murder. Amber claims she’s innocent, but as the story unravels, I couldn’t help but question whether she was telling the truth or lying through her teeth. I mean, Freida is good at making us feel that way, which is why I love her, its truly mind-spinning.
McFadden does a brilliant job of creating an atmosphere that’s both tense and eerie. Its really my new kind of Genre from now on. Set in a secluded location, the sense of isolation adds to the suspense. I loved how the pacing was perfectly balanced—slow enough to build up the tension, but fast enough to keep me turning the pages. Each chapter seemed to bring a new revelation, and I was constantly left wondering who was really telling the truth.

The character development in Never Lie is top-notch, especially Amber. She’s not just a typical character—you really get to see her layers unfold throughout the story. The psychological dynamics between her and Dr. Sutton kept me on my toes. I kept thinking I had everything figured out, but McFadden threw in twist after twist that completely changed the game. By the end, I was stunned.
If you’re a fan of books that keep you guessing, Never Lie is a must-read. It’s suspenseful, dark, and full of surprises. I honestly didn’t see the ending coming, and that’s what makes this book so amazing. Freida McFadden has once again proven she knows how to write a thrilling, unputdownable story. If you love twisty, psychological thrillers, grab this book—you won’t regret it! Also, this is not my last Freida McFadden book, trust me.
